An Equatorian was beaten nearly to death by a group of Dinka youth during food distribution in Tika Refugee Settlement, triggering more tension between these two communities.

On that fateful day, there was a distribution taking place in Tika refugee settlement and there was a cue which was mainly dominated by the Dinka tribe, and one of the Equatorian boy was among them and excused himself for short call .On his return to the cue ,the Dinkas didnt allow him to join and started slapping him several times then the boy retaliated and the Equatorians pitied the boy and joined the fight but the police intervened and the boy rushed to the hospital.

MODERATOR An eye witness from the distribution point in Tika 1 Extension has confirmed there was fighting and one person was hospitalized. We are further investigating the magnitude of the fighting and its course through our Community ambassadors in Tika.
