Several people have been injured by wild animals and a few have died due to increased movement of wild animals in residential areas in Witu and Mpeketoni.
Occurred in Lamu County, Kenya
Reported by wasongy via Internet in mpeketoni and witu, Kenya

This rumour is confirmed true and is of high priority – here's why:
Due to lack of water and pasture in the forest, the animals are moving into residents homestead in search of water. The situation has been worsened by residents killing the animals that are moving during the day for meat and end up being killed in the process.Kenya Wildlife Service says they are trying to salvage the situation by putting up water pans in the forest. They have also requested the residents to be extra careful when moving during the nights and to stop agitating animals by trying to kill them

MODERATOR I have corrected the location for this rumour and changed it to just Lamu County in general since it applies to a couple of places within the county. Also, we need to clarify the rumour itself. When it says that "a few have died" does this refer to the humans or animals?
