Here is why -
A Facebook post which praise U Kyi Linn, the suspect in the killing of a prominent Muslim lawyer U Ko Ni has quickly spread on the social media.
By around mid-night on 29 January, the day the lawyer was shot in front of the Yangon International Airport, the post was shared among 1800 social media users and 30 000 people have liked the post.
A Facebook user Tin Ko Latt first wrote a post which said “Let us congratulate U Kyi Linn a fellow Mandalay resident for his heroic work of killing wicket man Nga Ni (degrading term to refer a person). You are feel free to differ to my opinion”.
Among the 110 Facebook users who gave comment on the post, some said they totally disagree with Tin Ko Latt while some praised him for his support for an act of terror.
Tin Ko Latt regularly write anti-Islamic rhetoric on his Facebook page and he has 30 000 followers.
