This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
The Pope Francis came under criticism for his comment against alleged atrocities against minority Muslim population in Myanmar. The Pontiff made the reference on abuses against Rohingya minority in his sermon at the Vatican. The comment attracted criticism from Maung Thway Chun, a leader of Myanmar nationalist movement; he said the intellectual level of the Pope was very low. Maung Thway Chun who is also the Editor in Chief of Aung Zeyartu Journal said those who support Rohingya are deem as proponents to terrorism, as they are waging Jihad against Myanmar. Maung Thway Chun wrote in Thargyi Thway journal on 25 February that Pope has tried to interfere in Myanmar’s internal affairs while liberal democrats in the Western countries are preaching on not to mix politics with the religion. The Pope’s special envoy during his recent visit to Myanmar raised Rohingya issue in a meeting with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, said Cardinal of Myanmar Charles Bo, who joined the meeting on 8 February. Maung Thway Chun also criticised Cardinal Bo, who he was described as a traitor to the state as he call for the rights of Rohingya people by blatantly opposing majority view among the people of Myanmar.
