This report is Confirmed true and is of Medium Priority. Here is why -
A public rally in support of the Tatmadaw (the armed forces of Myanmar) and the civil servants who are working to protect the country’s western border with Bangladesh was held in Yangon on 6 November. The rally at the Hittaing ground in Tamwe Township was organized by so-called “nationalists”. The public rally was held while the Tatmadaw continue its attacks against Rohingya villages in search for perpetrators of the attacks on the three outposts of the Myanmar security force on 9 October. The protest was led by a lawyer U Aye Paing and Daw Khin Wain Kyi as well as by U Aung Naing Thu who is a member of Buddhist vigilantes group. In his address at the rally, U Aye Paing said Rohingyas are trying to take territorial control and harming the native Rakhine people. The rally called for actions against the terrorists who carried out the attacks. Even though there are reports of arson attacks, rapes were reported during the security operations, the local media has kept silence on such incidents.
