The grave number of U Ko Ni, the assassinated legal adviser of the National League for Democracy (NLD) is IS/1488 which prompted the ultra-nationalist to accuse the slain Muslim lawyer of a member of the so-called Islamic State or IS terrorist group. A social media user La Win Htun wrote a post on his Facebook page that the masonry who prepare U Ko Ni’s grave tried to give message that by 21-Century Myanmar will become an Islamic State. He said the grave number refer to IS/1488 project, which is aimed at transforming Myanmar into an Islamic State during this 21 century. He said other people who are working for the project should be arrested. The post was shared among 140 Facebook users and 40 people have commented on it. Also, 630 people liked the post. Some Facebook users share La Win Htun’s post in screen shorts to other users on 1 March. U Ba Sein, the administrator of Ye Way cemetery where U Ko Ni is buried said IS/1488 was only his grave registration number. He said the grave plots are designated from A to W row and U Ko Ni was buried in I row and his burial place is reused for “second” time so it was used initial S and the number of the grave is 1488.
