U Wirathu warns advocate for Charter reform

U Wirathu, a senior member of the Association for Protection of Race and Religion, which is more popularly known as Ma Ba Tha warned those who are calling for the amendment of the constitution after the assassination of U Ko Ni a leading advocate for Charter reform. U Wira Thu said although the military Members of Parliaments are not required in the parliaments of other countries but in Myanmar, it was needed to safeguard the constitution and national security. And he warned those who want to amend the constitution. U Wirathu wrote on his Facebook page on 26 February “I feel relieved as threat to future of Myanmar has been removed in this incident; I am in gratitude to Kyi Linn, so as to Aung Win Zaw and Aung Win Khaing also to Zay Yar Phyo”. A high court advocate U Ko Ni, who was assassinated on 29 January, was a leading advocate for constitutional reform and called for drafting of a new constitution.
