This report is Confirmed true and is of Low Priority. Here is why -
The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing denied the allegation of human rights by Myanmar military in Rakhine State. He made the comment during a meeting with new Ambassador of Qartar to Myanmar on 16 February. General Min Aung Hlaing explained to the Ambassador on the verification of citizenship status of the people by using accurate data and ensure the people who are eligible for citizenship to enjoy same kind of rights as any other citizens of Myanmar. He said there is no incident of human rights abuse by the military and even if there are some incident it was committed by an individual, who will face punishment under the law. He said Myanmar military do not want to see instability at the time efforts are being made for peace and stability of the country. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also made a comment on 5 December that there was no violation of the human rights of Rohingya people. He made the comment during a meeting with the Navy Commander of Malaysia General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr) Haji Zulkifell Bin Mohamed Zaid. However, after his comment a video on abuse by the security forces against the communities in Ko Tan Kauk village was circulated on social media in late December. The authorities acknowledge the abuse and gave punishment to the police officers who were seen beating up people in the video. According to a media release from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Office the video was posted on social media on 31 December. It was shot at Ko Tan Kauk village in Northern Rakhine State on 5 November. The video was taken by a police officer while doing smoking. The government’s denials over the human rights abuses were become questionable after the video was emerged. Even though some organisations were given access to the area where terrorist, attacks took place but there are weaknesses in transparency. Reference: San Taw Chein Newspaper
