Two Islamic school near Yangon closed down by authorities

Two Islamic schools or Madrasas in Thalyin Darga ward were asked to closed down by the Township General Administration Department on 13 December. The head of the General Administration Department of Thanlyin summoned the responsiable persons from Ni Zar Mul and Teacher Rashida Islamic schools to his office and order for the closure of the schools. A responsible person of Nizamul school said “our school have been doing teaching in this place from past 10 years. We have done convocation ceremonies annually. We organised these ceremonies with the permission of the local authorities. During that 10 years period there were seven ward administraters were in the office, but none of them have made any objection”. He said the two Islamic schoos have received recognisation from the Islamic organisation and the school authorities have submitted request several times for official permission but have not receive permission. “In February 2016, we have submitted for permission to the Regional Religious Affairs Office,” he said. The Religious Affairs Ministry has instructed in last August to its offices accross the country to compile the religious buildings which were built without permission. Reference: Source of BHRN
