Bus companies face ban for carrying Bengali

Here is why -
The authorities in Myeik imposed one month suspension of Aung Yadana bus company after an allegation that it has allow two Bengali to travel on one of its buses. The company provide transport service between Yangon and Myeik in Taninthayi Region.
The Taninthayi Region Government has issued an instruction on 24 October to all bus companies not to allow Bengali to travel on their buses.
In other incident, the transport authorities in Dawei imposed one-month ban on Shwe Wei Yadanar bus company after two Bengali men travel on one of its bus. The ban was also impose on the driver and conductor. Also, the head of the company’s bus gate in Yangon was sacked after the incident.
The head of Taninthayi Region transport authority U Tin Soe said actions would be taken against those bus companies who allow Bengali to travel on their buses, even after knowing their identity.
The director of the State Government office, U Thein Aung, has instructed the authorities to inspect all the major checkpoints in the state to prevent Bengali travelling out of the state.
Those arrested were said to be Bengalis but identification of the arrested people were not done in a transparent manner.
