Here is why -
One child suspect arrested in connection with the 9 October attack on the border guard force in Maung Taw has died during detention on 1 February. A statement from the State Counsellor Office said the child Mohamed Rafi was arrested during the security operation with suspect of his alleged role in the attack.
The statement said the Mohamed Rafi was died while taking treatment at Buthitaung Hospital for his stomach conditions.
The child was arrested by Nga Khu Ra police station under the criminal charges section 302,333,307 and 34. His case is registered with number (P) 35/2016.
There are also other incidents of death of the Rohingya people arrested for their alleged role in the attack on security forces. In an incident on 17 October, one Rohingya man was died after he was short by security forces as he allegedly try to snatch weapon from security personnel. The incident took place in Redar village in Maungtaw. Similarly 7 Day News reported on 19 October that two Rohingya man from Nga Khu Ra village were died while they were transported to Maungtaw hospital to get treatment for their asthma conditions.
A statement from the State Counsellor Office issued on 1 December said 4 Rohingya were killed during interrogations.
According to the figure released by the State Counsellor office a total of 528 people were arrested since the 9 October attacks and 58 were released and 466 people are still being interrogated by the police.
