Here is why -
The Chairman of a pro-Buddhist group Ma Ba Tha- the Myanmar acronym for the Association for the Protection of Race and Religion- termed the members of the minority religions in Myanmar “as destructionists to (Bamar) race and (Buddhist) religion”.
Ashin Tilawka Bi Wuntha (Insein) made the comment in an article published in a pro-Buddhist Thagi Thway Journal. The article published in the Volume 1 and no 13 of the journal quoted from old Buddhist textbook “Ko Nawin”. It include nine facts which he said support his claims that the members of the minority religions in Myanmar are working for destruction of the race and religion of Myanmar while living under the shelter provided by the country.
He added that those who are opposing to the work of the people who are working for protection of the race and religion are also helping in the destruction cause, in an apparent reference to the some members of the government who favor for clamp down on the Buddhist nationalist groups.
Ashin Tilawka Bi Wuntha (Insein) said it would be important to adopt preventive measures against the destructionist elements instead of starting to take action only when it has arises.
